Microsoft has released a new iPhone app for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 to help you stay connected whether you are in the office or out on the road. A few improvements have been made to make it easier and quicker to access the information you need.
It is a very quick download, click here to access the download via iTunes.
As soon as you have downloaded and launched the app you will be directed to a screen where you will need to enter your CRM URL.
Once you have entered your Username and Password, you will be connected to the app and can begin using Microsoft Dynamics CRM for iPhone.
The first page you will see is the main navigation view where you will see a list of options to access accounts, appointments or opportunities etc…
Simply tap whichever icon you wish to view.
Microsoft Dynamics on iPhone is simple to use and allows quick and easy access to the basic functions of CRM.
It, of course, does not include all of the functionalities you would normally have access to, but it does fulfill an important role for CRM users who are out on the road and need quick account or contact details.
Navigation is made easy by the 3 icons present across the bottom of the screen.
The Home icon – this will return you back to the main screen.
The Magnifying Glass – here you can easily search for particular records.
The Plus Sign – Allows you to enter a new record.
One other great feature is the hyperlinks included in areas such as Account Records.
Alongside a customer account name you will notice there are phone numbers displayed as blue hyperlinks. Clicking on one of these will directly call your customer. This is a great time-saver for your sales team working out of the office.
You can also go into a record if you want to view all details related to that customer, and it shows blue hyperlinks for direct email and website access.
Once you are inside a record, you will notice the icons at the bottom of the screen have changed to include a Pen icon – this Pen icon will enable you to edit records. This is a nice plus for users to be able to edit details, customer contacts, appointments etc. directly from their iPhone.
Once you have added or edited a record tap either the diskette icon to save or the x icon to cancel.
Noticeable improvements have been made but there still remains a lot of demand for more functionality, especially with access to Orders, Quotes, Invoices and Products.
I expect we will be seeing further improvements as more people start to use Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 on their iPhone.
“In today’s hyper-connected world, customers need to be able to access their business-critical data on the device of their choice from wherever they are,” said Dennis Michalis, general manager for Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
