As previously reported here, Microsoft has finally settled on a new name for their cloud based storage solution. OneDrive now replaces the SkyDrive moniker and website (URLs are redirected as well as major branding and marketing materials). This fits well with Microsoft’s ongoing drive for device experience unification, being “One” place.  Microsoft isn’t shy about the change either, sending out emails to all subscribers letting them know about the change.

To encourage growth, users can extend beyond their free 7GB limit by setting up camera phone backups and referring their friends to the service.

Note that Office users won’t see any changes to their in-app verbiage until patches are rolled out (2013 SP1 maybe?).  Mobile device users will find newly updated versions of their applications in their respective marketplaces as of February 20th.
